Wedding Budget

Budgeting probably is the first thing you may need consider. You don’t need a Masters’s Degree in Math. All you need is some tracking system. An Excel spreadsheet may do the trick.

It is common that bride and groom will call their own parents to discuss the budget and see how much they are wiling to contribute. How to fund the wedding varies from family to family. A lot of times, the groom’s family pays for flowers, liquor, orchestra, and photograph, and the rehearsal dinner. The bride’s family covers the rest. The cost of honeymoon sometimes is paid by the groom’s parents but now a lot of brides and grooms pay themselves. The best way to do is to list everything and then discuss who is paying what. Here are some typical costs involved:

* Accommodations for the groom’s guests and bride’s.

* Gifts to the bride’s guests and bride’s

* Liquor

* Rehearsal dinner

* Transportation for the groom’s guests and bride’s

* Bride’s gown and accessories

* Flowers for the reception and ceremony

* Invitations

* Music at the ceremony and reception

* Photography & Videography

* Reception expenses

* Other fees, like marriage license, church costs, officiant’s fee
