Groom Attire
Groom’s attire is not probably not as hard to choose as the bride’s gown. The basic principle is the groom’s attire should match the style of the bride’s gown. Say if the bride wears a satin ballgown, the groom would probably get away with a linen shirt and shorts. In most cases, tuxedos are safe bets. Men look great in tuxedos. The most common tuxedos for weddings are the single-breasted jackets and double-breasted jackets. The single-breasted jackets are slim and work great for shorter grooms. The double-breasted jackets are stylish and can be worn without a vest or cummerbund.
The shirts that go with tuxedos are usually in white. The front is in the form of vertical pleats or a bib of cotton pique. Choose the style that fits the tuxedo best. The shirt collar should complement the cut of the jacket. Generally there are two types of shirt collars: winged collar and turndown collar. Winged collar is high and pointed and it looks elegant with a bow tie. But it is stiff. Turndown collar is softer.
